About Me
Brandon Marcelas Dozier is a multidisciplinary artist, creative director, and producer whose work lives at the intersection of dance, film, and live performance. Based in Washington, D.C., he has built a career defined by storytelling, cultural impact, and a commitment to elevating underrepresented voices through visual and performance based work.
With over a decade of experience, Brandon brings a dynamic and holistic approach to creation- blending choreography, cinematography, and technical production to develop immersive, story driven experiences. He currently performs as a dancer for the Washington Commanders, contributing to a nationally recognized game entertainment program, while continuing to expand his influence across film, theater, and digital media.
As the founder of Cinema Black, Brandon has directed and produced award-recognized films that have received both national and international recognition, including Official Selection at the ARFF Paris International Awards, preservation and display in the US Library of Congress, and honors from Universal Movie Awards. His work reflects a strong visual identity rooted in culture, movement, and narrative depth.
In addition to his creative work, Brandon has served as an educator and mentor across the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, working with institutions such as Duke Ellington School of the Arts, The Dance Institute of Washington, Joy of Motion Dance Center, Ballet Nova, and multiple public and charter schools. His teaching and program leadership have supported youth development, professional training, and creative exploration for emerging artist.
Brandon's background also extends into technical direction and production design where he has led lighting, sound, and stage execution for theater and live performance. His ability to bridge creative vision with technical precision allows him to operate seamlessly across disciplines, supporting productions from concept through execution.
Through Cinema Black and his independent work, Brandon continues to collaborate with nonprofits, government agencies, and cultural organizations to create meaningful, story driven projects that connect communities, preserve culture, and expand across the arts. His work is driven by a clear purpose: to create experiences that resonate, inspire, and leave a lasting impact.
